Although the anomalous formation visually almost perfectly resembles a black hole, investigations of the object within the walls of Research Institute 7 revealed none of the structural and internal properties characteristic of gravitational class artifacts.

According to Professor Brusenko, this confusion with classification may stem from a less than optimal understanding of the fundamental laws governing artifacts and anomalies.
