Mauser C96
A German self-loading pistol developed in 1895. The Mauser company produced many different models of pistol for the police, the military, and for the civilian market, but none of them enjoy quite the popularity of the C96. Thus, the phrase "Mauser pistol" is almost invariably understood to mean this model.
